What do I need to become a candidate?

 

The Conservative Party want people with passion, drive, and a commitment to the Party and values, who want to make a difference. Candidates come from all walks of life. Wherever you’re from and whatever your background, they want to hear from you.
 

Do I need to be a member of the Conservative Party?

 

Yes. To be considered, you need to be a Conservative Party member for a minimum of 3 months.

The Conservative Party requires all applicants to read the Guide to Becoming a Conservative Party Candidate. You can download it here

Once you’ve read the guide, you can fill in the form to register your interest here

Please complete all sections of the form, including as much detail as possible but ensuring that it covers no more than two A4 sides. Once completed please return to the Candidates Department via candidateenquiries@conservatives.com.

Can CYW help me on my political journey?

Yes. We offer events and development courses to help all young women prepare for political life.

I don't want to stand but I know someone who I think should - what can I do?

 

Put them forward with #AskHerToStand - 50:50 Parliament's campaign for an inclusive, gender-equal Parliament​.
