Policy Competition Terms and Conditions
Entry Requirements and T&Cs

-
Entry is open to women who are members of the Conservative Party. Candidates must be between 18 – 35 years old on the day of the submission deadline. Members of the CYW Executive Committee (Chair, Deputy Chairs, Vice Presidents) may be part of the judging process and as such are not permitted to enter.
-
Each policy proposal should address only one of the five topic areas, and must be between 500-600 words in length (not counting diagrams, tables of data, footnotes, bibliography or authorship declaration). Please submit your policy proposal, saved in PDF format, through our website. The title of the PDF attachment should read SURNAME, First Name and state the policy topic it is answering (e.g. MAY, Theresa, topic 1). We ask that essays are double spaced in size 13 font.
-
By the submission of their policy proposal to CYW, candidates declare that the contents of their policy proposal is their own unique work and that AI has not been used in the writing of their policy proposal.
-
Each candidate should only submit one entry to the competition. If candidates submit more than one policy proposal, the first entry received will be the one that is judged. Any subsequent entries will not be read.
-
By submitting their policy proposal, candidates agree to their name, image and essay being published on the CYW website and being used by CYW on its social media platforms.
-
Candidates are strongly advised not to leave uploading their entry to the last minute - technical difficulties will not be taken into account when enforcing the deadline for submissions.
-
The judges' decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
